Morette Delivers First Margaritaville Hotel

Sound planning and good management triumph again!  Contratualtions to one of our most loyal clients!

"Ahead of schedule and on budget."

Miramar Beach Parking Structure Ribbon Cutting

Some contractors work their entire lives and never get to use those words about one of their own projects. Its even better when someone like a County Commissioner says that about one of your projects. We congratulate our client, Vision Const ruction, Inc. on completing Miramar Beach Parking Deck ahead of schedule and on budget! Other area contractor's jaws dropped when Vision's price came in nearly $400,000 lower than theirs. Then they sat back and waited for them to fail. In the end Vision gets the last laugh. Vision's phased delivery enabled Pompano Joe's Restaurant to enjoy the full Spring Break Season with ample parking and t he associated business that would have been otherwise lost. A testament to sound planning, faithful execution and good people. John B

Deceptive Schedules: Can We Detect Them? Does It Matter?
"...widespread abuses of powerful software to produce badly flawed or deliberately deceptive schedules that look good but lack mathematical coherence or common sense about how the industry works." "Critics Can't Find the Logic in Many of Today's CPM Schedules," ENR, May 26,2003. This was the bottle of champagne broken across the bow of the SS College of Scheduling at its launching. Since that time we have seen Practice Standards published and Professional Certifications implemented. It will be years before we know if we have moved the meter on the quality of schedules in general. But with the publication of 29R-03 Forensic Schedule Analysis we should be able to detect flawed and deceptive schedules. But can we determine if they are flawed or defective? Does it Matter?

John Buziak and Jonathan head of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, will be tackling this topic at the Annual Meeting of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE-I) in Seattle, June 28-July 2009.

Hope to see you there!
